Chinese cabbage has long, crisp green leaves with a lightly sweet flavour, unlike the typical cabbage taste. This variety didn’t exactly make the journey from China—it’s now widely available in Belgium. It’s an ideal match for stir-fries.

Store separately

Chinese cabbage is sensitive to ethylene gas. Don’t store it next to ethylene-releasing produce like apples, pears and tomatoes to prevent accelerated ageing and leaf yellowing.

Presentation

Lay Chinese cabbage on its side, cut side down, in breathable packaging to avoid condensation.
