Arugula is an aromatic leafy vegetable with a distinct bitter and peppery flavour. Its small, dark green leaves add a fresh twist to salads, pastas, pizzas, and sandwiches.
Make sure arugula isn’t exposed to direct sunlight for too long to prevent discolouration and drying out. Place the arugula in a cool, dark spot in your store for optimal presentation and quality.
Store arugula at a temperature between 0 and 2°C in the cold room. Note: arugula is sensitive to ethylene, so keep it separate from ethylene-producing fruits and vegetables. Maintain humidity around 95% and ensure good ventilation to avoid condensation. When stored properly, arugula stays fresh for 3 to 5 days on average.
Arugula is grown both outdoors and in greenhouses. When grown outdoors, the arugula develops in open air, while greenhouse cultivation protects the plants from weather conditions. Both growing methods ensure the arugula can grow and develop optimally, resulting in a high-quality product.
