Clock sale

The vegetable and fruit auction has become a household name. The clock sale is a quick, transparent, and reliable way to purchase vegetables and fruit.
Every weekday, from Monday to Saturday, you can buy fresh products directly from the grower through our six computer-controlled auction clocks.

How does the clock sale work?

As a professional buyer, you determine the right moment to make a move. You monitor the price on the clock, and with the click of a button, you secure the purchase. Thanks to our uniform system and strict quality controls, you can be sure you're buying fresh products of top quality.

Whether you're active in wholesale, retail, horeca, or foodservice: through the clock sale, you gain access to a wide range of products and benefit from a smooth and efficient logistics process. Often, your transport is already prepared while you purchase. This way, you minimize the supply chain.

Would you like to experience firsthand how efficient and transparent purchasing via the clock can be? We look forward to welcoming you at BelOrta.

What can you see on the clock face?

Veilingklok BelOrta
  1. Product name and description
  2. Quality block and type of packaging
  3. Offer per crate and per lot
  4. Unit price and purchase quantity
  5. Kopernumber of the buyer
  6. Sales location and other specific information (for example, pre-sale)

Purchase process via the clock

  1. The starting price is determined by the seller.
  2. The price drop becomes visible on the light strip with 100 illuminated bulbs.
  3. The buyer presses his button or key as soon as the price reaches a desired level.
  4. An audio connection is established with the seller to confirm the purchase (quantity, packaging choice, transport requests).
  5. The sold quantity is deducted from the offer, after which the clock restarts for the next transaction.

After the sale

  • The buyer receives a proforma document with details of their purchases.
  • The purchased product is handed over to the logistics service and delivered to the agreed loading dock or location.

Sales of clocks physically or digitally follow

You can physically attend the clock sale at one of our sales halls (Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Borgloon or Sint-Truiden), or you can use our remote purchase system. With this system, you can participate in the clock sale remotely, no matter where you are. A headset with a microphone is required for the audio connection with the auctioneer.
