Why choose BelOrta?

At BelOrta, you work with one of Europe’s largest and most modern cooperatives. You get access to a broad assortment of over 200 types of fruit and vegetables, sourced directly from Belgian and Dutch growers. We combine quality and freshness with transparency and efficiency.

Our buyers can count on fast deliveries, clear agreements, dedicated contact persons and access to our extranet, where you can easily track your purchases, orders and invoices.
We also invest heavily in sustainability and innovative packaging solutions. We work closely in line with the seasons, so you can always count on top quality, perfectly timed to the time of year.

How does the purchasing process work?

As a buyer, you can choose from different purchasing methods depending on your preferences and way of working. You can order via the extranet, take part in the daily clock auction, place orders through product administration or make use of custom solutions such as pre-sales or long-term agreements.

For certain products, like the top 10 vegetables, there are specific purchasing channels such as clock auctions or long-term deals.
Don’t forget there’s a difference between the product price and the all-in price, which includes extra costs like packaging and logistics. Product prices are usually determined by auction, meaning you always benefit from current market conditions.

Packaging

We offer a wide range of packaging options, which can be tailored to your specific needs. Whether you’re buying small or large volumes, we’ve got the right solution for you. That way, you can stay flexible and respond easily to what your business needs.

Practical info for buyers

Invoicing is done every two days: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Purchases of fruit and vegetables (excluding apples and pears) from week X must be paid to BelOrta by Tuesday of week X+2.
Purchases of apples and pears from week X must be paid by Tuesday of week X+4.
To facilitate this process, invoices are sent digitally (via Peppol). We recommend setting up a direct debit with your financial institution.

Transport between sites and fellow auctions is provided. BelOrta itself does not offer transport services; the loading of purchased goods must be arranged by the buyer at one of BelOrta’s sites. It’s important this happens on time to avoid delays.
